All survivors have to face many obstacles in their struggle for survival. In order to stay alive, they must remain healthy, calm, rested, hydrated and satiated. Otherwise they will become vulnerable to succumb before the undead hordes. The five basic survivor attributes relate to this. Health, Fear, Fatigue, Thirst and Hunger represent the survivor's physical and mental conditions.
Health represents the a survivors injuries, or lack thereof. Survivors start with 100% health. Health goes down every time a survivor is injured either by zombies or by hostile squads. If health reaches zero, the survivor is permanently killed.
Fear represents the level of emotional distress a survivor experiences. Exposure to risk (e.g. high Z-Density zones increases a survivor's fear. High levels of fear decrease the survivors' performance and makes him/her more vulnerable to injuries.
Fatigue represents the tiredness of a survivor. Fatigue builds up as survivors perform actions, like Scavenging or travelling through different zones. High levels of fatigue makes survivors prone to be injured.
Thirst affects all survivors. It rises to 100% in a 24 hour period. Survivors need to drink Liquids to lower their thirst levels. Survivors with high thirst suffer penalties. If drink remains at 100% for 7 days, the survivor will go AWOL.
Hunger affects all survivors, rising from 0% to 100% in 24 hours. Survivors require to consume Food to get rid of hunger. Survivors with high levels of hunger will suffer penalties, and will go AWOL if hunger remains at its maximum level for 7 days.
Survivors can be Bitten or Infected if exposed to high levels of danger. Infection is very dangerous, as it cannot be cured. Bitten survivors will eventually get infected, and infected survivors will turn into zombies at any time. Infected survivors that turn can bite other survivors in the same safehouse.
Bitten survivor have a grey square right to their name. This square turns red when the survivor becomes infected.
